Lessons
OUEC Lessons
OUEC members benefit from being able to have weekly lessons organised at Hall Place Equestrian Centre, just outside Reading, or alternatively at Waterstock Dressage and Riding School, in Waterstock.
Lessons are heavily subsidised at between £30-£55 per hour for a schooling lesson or hack depending on the number of riders in the group. Since 2016 we have also arranged a transport scheme set up with Zipcar for our members to make travelling to lessons even easier. All of our riding schools are reachable via a combination of public transport and cycling.
The great thing about OUEC is that you can ride as much or as little as you want, there is no commitment to riding every week but plenty of our members do, you also get to meet lots of new people who are also having lessons.
Lessons cater to riders of all ability from absolute beginners to advanced riders, and cover a wide range of disciplines with both jumping and flat lessons available.
All OUEC members can take part in dressage and showjumping competitions that are regularly held at Hall Place Equestrian Centre as well as Cuppers (our annual uni-wide competitions), benefitting from subsidised horse hire.
If you would like to find out more, or if you have any questions regarding membership or lessons, please contact our Novice Captain - Nicole Wieclaw ([email protected]) or the Secretary- Grace Haworth ([email protected])
